OVERVIEW:
- The Sales Engineering position provides technical support to the ODM Account Manager and members of the ADB ODM partnership program that are based in Asia Pacific.
- The Sales Engineering shall work closely with the ODM Account Manager as a team to support the ODMs. The Sales Engineer shall work with ODMs from prior to a sale, through delivery, installation and deployment. The Sales Engineering will support the ODM Account Manager and ODM partners across ADB’s product lines with an emphasis on ADB’s Personal TV and Business TV solutions, which include systems, software and services. This will require a solid understanding of the associated ecosystems and personal relationships with ecosystem technology partner companies.
- Other potential technologies to be supported may include ADB’s IoT solutions and ADB’s portfolio of broadband solutions servicing the telco market segment.
- Key interfaces internally will be the ODM Account Manager, Product Marketing, Product Management, Product Development, and Customer Support.
- External interfaces shall include ODMs and their customers, plus ADB’s Technology Partners whose products are integrated into ADB’s solutions. This position requires on-site support for the ODM partners.
BASIC SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide inputs to Product Management for the definition of solutions to meet an ODM partner’s and ultimately their customer’s needs. Provide to Product Management a clear understanding of the ODM partner’s technical strategy, with a view to influence ADB’s product roadmaps to include requirements from ODMs and their customers, and conversely to influence the ODM’s product roadmaps with solutions from ADB.
- Support the indirect sales effort by assisting the ODM Account Manager in qualifying potential customers proposed by the ODM, visiting the ODM and their customers and defining the appropriate ADB solutions, demonstrating/presenting technical solutions/proposals, and assisting closing sales by interfacing with the ODM and their customers’ engineering decision-makers.
- Participates in and prepare technical offers and answers to ODM request for proposals in coordination with Product Managers and the ODM Account Manager.
- Verify and show ODM partners that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications.
- Provide technical guidance, consultation and training to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.
- Coordinate post sales technical support, assisting in diagnosing and remedying deployed product technical issues in a timely manner.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL DEMONSTRATE:
- Have degree in Electronic, Telecoms, IT or Software Engineering
- 2 years technical marketing / Sales engineering working experiences.
- Technical and business level understanding of pay-TV ecosystems (e.g. broadcast and OTT).
- Knowledge and experience of DVB standards plus audio and video standards (e.g. PCM, ACC, Dolby, MPEG).
- Understanding of middleware architectures, and applications such as EPGs, VOD, PVR, Media Player.
- A leader who will help pro-actively drive business in addition to responding to technical requests
- Ability to discover and qualify prospective and current customer (ODM) business needs
- Customer (ODM) management skills with the ability to understand changing requirements, manage expectations, and deliver expected results in a timely manner.
- Critical thinking abilities and solid problem resolution skills.
- Organizational skills
- Both of English and Mandarin Language capability are requested.
